In just a few weeks, the 36th annual Broad Street Run will open for registration.  Will you be entering the lottery to participate?  The Broad Street Run is a ten-mile (mostly flat) run through the City of Brotherly Love – straight down Broad Street.  You can encounter all walks of life in your journey through the city on that day: the wheelchair racers, the first timers, Cecily Tynan and even former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell has been seen high-fiving runners near city hall.

If you’ve never run before, don’t be intimidated by the TEN WHOLE MILES!  There are easy to follow training guides all over the internet and this is one of the more helpful ones to get in gear to complete your first Ten-miler!  Hal Higdon really breaks down the training and guides you to meet peak physical shape by race day!  It includes a fair share of strength training and incrementally increasing runs to prep your body.  This is a great way to train and avoid injuries while making your first run time one to brag about!
